The giant door slides open to reveal the repurposed space within. One room has been more than enough for him to really spread out and have an area for his workshop and a lab, and the far end has been relegated to his botany hobby with mainly Cybertronian blooms on display. The robot-bed is the designated rec and relax area.
Donnie is quick to greet them as he steps towards the doorway.]
[she smiles and waves, glancing over his shoulder at some of the stuff in the room. oooh, the flowers... pretty! she won't be surprised to see some of donnie's work when she visits the hydroponics lab in the future.]
Yeah, I'm good. Just been dealing with some Seer stuff, which is funny 'cause you mentioned some magic.
[bonecrusher, unaware of anything that's been going on other than mikaela has been happy to sit with him a lot more recently, boofs at donnie with his tail a-wagging.]
Oh, that sounds...not fun? I don't know but I'm assuming it's complicated.
[Donnie smiles in that careful way as he acknowledges Bonecrusher's greeting with an almost cautious head-pat in hopes that he is not met with slobbers.]
Huh? Oh! Yeah, come in, come in. Things are...good so to speak. There...has just been a recent development or at least something only recently called to my attention and I have no idea what to make of it.
[she doesn't seem too keen to talk about it too much, but she's still smiling a genuinely bright smile when donnie greets bonecrusher. despite the Horrors, mikaela is staying as strong as she can.]
Oh, man, tell me about it... [she comments as she slips in after bones.] That's kind of all magic is, sudden, unexplained and concerning developments. Are you doing okay, at least? Not sore or migraine-y?
[Her smile seems as much of a reassurance as anything else that Donnie doesn't press the issue. Hidden feelings are still within the realm of feelings and therefore not his strong point.]
I mean, I feel...normal? Nothing weird that I can really note.
[He steps towards the workshop area since it's nearby. There's a small pile of purple-themed clothing sitting on one end of the workbench, some notably frilly.]
Not sure if you saw me experimenting in the bar the other day. Uh. Sorry about the random stuff I left on the table.
That's a good start! [she follows him and stops for a moment to admire the clothing that's sitting on the workbench. she does like purple! bonecrusher sticks by donnie for a moment, but eventually calms down from the excitement of being with someone else and trots over to find somewhere to lay down.] Yeah, I did. I don't really mind, but why'd you leave it all? I didn't see everything that happened.
My head was just kind of elsewhere. Also I wasn't sure if they'd just change back to the costume bits.
[It eases some faint anxiety of wondering if the dog was going to jump on him, but Bonecrusher is a good boy.]
See, I was just looking at the props and was just thinking "hey, this would be great if it were purple," and suddenly it was. And then it all went downhill from there.
[Donnie picks up some skirt that he's pretty sure he will never use, eyeing it.]
Observe.
[There's...not much to observe because one moment it's a skirt and in the next, it's a pair of purple cargo pants.]
[never doubt that bonecrusher is always the best boy. mikaela has trained him so well with her spare time here.
she starts a little when the object changes, not afraid but rather getting that dream-like jerk feeling from the sheer mental dissonance of seeing an object change instantly. it takes her brain a moment to catch up, even with seeing magic before. there's usually at least some mystical glitter!]
...Huh. [you know, she really isn't sure what to make of this.] When did... the symptoms start?
I don't know..? [Man, he hates giving that response.]
I think...I started noticing something weird was happening back when I was helping Megatron fix tablets in the library, but at the time I just thought I was seeing things. They weren't drastic changes, just...parts that were damaged and then they weren't when I pulled them out because I was thinking about how salvageable they'd be.
[Donnie frowns, tossing the pants back onto the worktable.]
Maybe even before then... I didn't think too much about it at the time. I figured maybe it was because I didn't get enough sleep or something. Little things that were different at a second glance. So...maybe...months?
[she puts a hand to her chin like she's deep in thought. she kind of is!]
...Maybe I can use my Sight to try and get some idea, but it's entirely possible I could see something you don't want seen. Not on purpose, but if I'm gonna offer that as an option then it's fair to put that on the table.
[mikaela pushes her hair back, looking at donnie.]
I mean, if we go for that I won't tell anyone anything.
[Nodding, Donnie steps around the worktable to pull out a stool and then the rolling chair from over by his computer setup. He gestures for Mikaela to take whichever she prefers. He'll take the seat that's left.]
[she plops onto the stool and leans forward, tenting her fingers.]
You know. I've only done this with concepts. Not people sitting in front of me. I guess I just need to concentrate really hard and look... into you? It might take a while, so I guess... feel free to pick up a video game or something.
[it's a good thing he gets his phone because once she's confirmed it's all good to go, mikaela has to sit and concentrate for a good ten minutes before anything happens. it's likely the recent horrific vision set her off-kilter, but she's not going to beat herself up about it.
mikaela gets vague impressions, to start with. something she isn't sure is based in this reality or not, as it involves an alien supercomputer. isn't that technically what they're surrounded by? mikaela frowns lightly, not quite able to make heads or tails of that one just yet. she gets the impression donnie makes a hard and dangerous choice to do something with it, but can't see what.
then, much clearer, she sees the magical girl planet. donnie, optimus and rodimus after a harrowing fight, all exhausted and having endured so many difficulties in just the last day alone. she feels for them, as her own time on the planet was very easy. all she did was go and get some new clothes and hang out with a couple magical girls.
they're horrified at what ampri has done, as they should be.]
Ampri was a real stinker, huh? [she says finally, suddenly.]
[At least true to his teenage nature, Donnie is too caught up on his phone to see all the strange faces Mikaela's making at him.
While her finally speaking up again doesn't necessarily startle him, mention of that>/i> name puts the turtle completely on edge. He looks up from his phone at Mikaela looking ready to bite someone. ]
I can't say. It's just what came up when I looked. [she frowns.] There was another thing, too... you do something with an alien computer. But-- I don't know if it's here or... wherever. It's a difficult choice for you. A scary one.
He's the Prime of Transformation or something. ...I wonder if the other guys had anything happen to them.
[He doesn't dwell long on that thought with what Mikaela says next.]
Literally any computer we come across is going to technically be alien... [Trying not to look too concerned about the scary part and failing pretty badly at it.]
Best to ask? [she moves herself back and forth in the wheely chair as she thinks it over. there wasn't so much to it this time, but it seems straight forward even then.] The others you were with, I mean.
[the thing about computers makes her still, frowning.]
Yeah. That's true, it just popped up and felt like I should say it? It was really... hidden.
[Donnie nods, making a note on his phone. He hadn't really talked to the others that he'd fought alongside with, probably subconsciously trying to avoid any reminders of it.]
Well...I ...guess I'll try to remember to keep an eye out whenever I'm around alien tech then...
[That sounds exhausting. He hugs his knees, deciding maybe it's better to think about other stuff, but all the other stuff isn't that great.]
Sorry for making you see that. The Ampri thing, you did see what happened, right?
[quite recently, too! but she hasn't yet been turned off using the power she was trusted with, even if she does get a little anxiety from it. the net gains outweigh the negatives thus far.]
Do you... want to talk about it, like, normally? Is this stuff happening uncontrollably for you? Does it make you tired?
[The thought of anything worse makes Donnie cringe, although now he looks at Mikaela, a little concerned. Just what all has she been seeing? Ugh, magic stuff is awful.
He kind of looks at her funny when she asks if he wants to talk about stuff. ]
Well... not uncontrollably? I have to really have a clear image in mind of what I'm expecting, I guess. It gets a little tiring if I keep at it, like...I start feeling a pull, I don't know how else to describe it. Mostly for bigger things though, but I guess that makes sense. Despite this really not making sense.
